Historic District - Monroe, NC

FULL-HOME REMODEL 1920’S CRAFTSMAN - FEATURED IN CHARLOTTE HOME DESIGN & DECOR MAGAZINE PGS 80 & 81

An excerpt from our feature in Charlotte Home Design & Decor Magazine: BUNGALOW BEAUTY (By Brandy Woods Snow):

When Kris and Carmen Carlson began searching for a home not long after their wedding, they set out to find an older, historic property where their family could flourish while they grew their business.

Initially attracted to the Dilworth area, they changed their direction upon finding the perfect circa-1914 Craftsman bungalow in the historic district of Monroe. As their family's needs expanded, they realized their kitchen, a high-priority area, was lacking the space, upgrades, and flow necessary for entertaining. Likewise, the family desperately needed expanded bathroom space beyond a single bathroom that served the entire upper level.

The Carlsons brought in Interior Designer Wanda S. Horton on recommendation from a previous client also living in the historic district. When they knew Horton embraced their vision and could bring it to life, the renovation began. Horton says the renovation has been a major transformation for the Carlsons’ home and daily life. The interior finishes have elevated their surroundings in a manner that brings them as much excitement as traveling to a beautiful boutique hotel.”
